Explore a career in livestock development and take the first step towards becoming a leader or technical expert in this field. Our 24-month program is designed for top talent who want to gain valuable experience in all aspects of livestock activity while completing an in-house Certificate in Livestock Marketing.

The program is based at our Warrnambool branch, where you will work in both saleyard and branch environments, being mentored and guided by our experienced livestock employees and leaders. You will learn effective selling and relationship building techniques, as well as develop business skills such as compliance, sales, client relationship building, communication, marketing and social media, understanding finance, problem solving and negotiation and leading and managing a team.

You will also have the opportunity to participate in four leadership and skill-building workshops, receive on-the-ground training, and be assigned a mentor to provide ongoing support. The program is designed to accelerate your learning opportunities and provide professional networking opportunities to allow you to socialize with your peers and leaders across the business.

Placement mobility is available once the 24-month program concludes, allowing you to move locations to ensure you get the most out of your experience. Successful completion of the program will equip you with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the livestock industry.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A strong desire to learn and succeed in the livestock industry
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong negotiation abilities
  • Successful completion of Year 12
  • Worked successfully for a minimum of 24 months within the agricultural industry, ideally within livestock
  • Be willing to relocate at the conclusion or throughout the program
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or Australian permanent resident
  • Be vaccinated or willing to receive the Q Fever vaccination
  • The ability to work in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and leadership potential
  • Genuine interest and desire to work and learn about the livestock industry
