Job Title: Associate to the President

The role of Associate to the President involves providing high-level administrative support and undertaking legal research tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurate recording and distribution of Tribunal proceedings, including electronic minutes of proceedings and orders or decisions.
  • Undertake legal research projects as directed by the President.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the President and Principal Registrar, including coordinating listings, diary management, visitor reception, liaison with practitioners on behalf of the President, proofing judgments and decisions, and other tasks of an administrative nature.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A law degree or substantial progress towards a degree.
  • Completion of the Tasmanian Legal Practice Course at the Centre for Legal Studies, Hobart, or another practical legal training course approved by the Board of Legal Education.
  • Admitted as a legal practitioner, or expect to be admitted in Tasmania.
  • A full driver's license is also required.

The successful applicant will possess a law degree, be admitted as a legal practitioner, and hold a full driver's license. They will also have completed the Tasmanian Legal Practice Course or equivalent.
