Occupational Therapist in Sydney

The Australian Red Cross is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team in supporting young parents and their children in residential care.
This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable individuals and families. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized plans that promote child development and parenting outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop tailored interventions to support young parents and their children
- Work closely with staff and clients from diverse backgrounds to ensure culturally sensitive and effective services
- Collaborate with other professionals to develop and deliver parent education programs, including Circle of Security and other attachment-based initiatives
- Monitor and evaluate child development outcomes using tools such as ASQ and ASQ-SE
- Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring high-quality service delivery and data collection
- Degree or qualification in Occupational Therapy with a minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience
- Sound discipline knowledge gained through experience, training, or education in child development interventions and strategies
- Experience working with parents to improve parenting and child development outcomes, both individually and in groups
- Practical experience in delivering parent education programs and working with marginalized communities
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Registration on the Residential Care Workers Register
- Whooping cough vaccination and Working with Children check
- Current driver's license
