Job Overview

We have multiple positions to be filled within dynamic teams committed to delivering critical capabilities used by ASD's workforce.

The Business Analyst position plays a pivotal role in developing and delivering business solutions that support the organisation's strategic objectives. We are looking for individuals from a range of backgrounds who possess the following qualities:

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Performing traceability to strategic requirements
  • Creating detailed business analysis including benefits, risk, feasibility and options analysis, scope requirements definition and prioritisation, planning and facilitation of stakeholder workshops, root-cause analysis, business acceptance activities, and business process improvement activities
  • Participating in the development of business artefacts, consultation with relevant stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Applying knowledge of business analysis methods and techniques, modelling and quality assurance techniques to understand business processes and contribute to business outcomes
About Our Team

Mission Data (MD) Division within the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) is responsible for providing data capabilities to support all of ASD's functions. We do this via the provision of data platforms and services, management of ASD's mission data, and providing analytic development and support.

All roles within MD require extensive knowledge of legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policies requirements.

Delivering Critical Capabilities

The successful candidate will be part of teams that deliver new capability under the REDSPICE program, deliver ASD's major capability programs, and enhance and modernise existing capabilities.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in business analysis within complex IT environments
  • A high level of accountability, capable of working under broad direction to deliver and lead highly complex business analysis activities on time
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder facilitation skills
