
Technical Infrastructure Leader

AusNet is seeking a skilled domain architect to lead architectural decisions that impact how energy is delivered to over 1.5 million Victorians.
Job DescriptionThe Domain Architect will provide thought leadership across the OT Telecommunications and Infrastructure domains, focusing on helping AusNet make key decisions on how to evolve to support growing demand for communication, processing, and security for mission-critical infrastructure.
This role involves working closely with strategic partners during the ideation phase, aligning initiatives with strategy, and performing a governance and advisory role throughout the full lifecycle.
As a senior-level position, the Domain Architect will have visibility across executive leadership, delivery partners, and regulatory bodies.
Responsibilities include:
- Shaping and delivering the OT architecture strategy aligned with AusNet's vision and business priorities
- Designing and maintaining scalable, secure, and resilient architecture across the Energy & Network domain
- Collaborating with business units, operations, and engineering teams to translate needs into architectural solutions
- Identifying and mitigating risks related to cyber security, data privacy, and regulatory compliance
- Championing architectural standards, policies, and best practices across domains
- Driving innovation and continuous improvement in digital architecture
- Influencing strategic decisions on new systems, IT services, and cyber programs
- Providing domain expertise to ensure architectural consistency across digital projects
Requirements include:
- Proven experience in enterprise or domain architecture within energy, utilities, or complex technical environments
- Strong OT and infrastructure background; cloud skills are highly valued
- Strategic mindset with hands-on delivery capability
- Deep understanding of IT systems, cyber security, and regulatory frameworks
- Passion for innovation and sustainable digital transformation
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on delivery
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Enterprise or domain architecture experience in energy, utilities, or complex technical environments
- Strong OT and infrastructure background, with a strong preference for cloud skills
- Strategic mindset and hands-on delivery capability
- Deep understanding of IT systems, cyber security, and regulatory frameworks
