About the Role

We are currently seeking an Advanced Geriatric Medicine Trainee to join our team at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, a leading acute referral and teaching centre in South Australia.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a genuine interest in Geriatric Medicine to undertake training in this specialty with our Aged and Extended Care Services, a Professorial geriatric medicine service linked to the University of Adelaide.

The advanced training positions are based at one of South Australia's premier hospitals, with a research precinct, the Basil Hetzel Institute.

As an Advanced Geriatric Medicine Trainee, you will be responsible for managing the care of all patients allocated to our current department in consultation with the responsible Registrars, Consultants, Nurses and Allied Health professionals.

You will have the opportunity to gain a diverse range of experience, working effectively within a fast-paced environment and maintaining a high standard of patient care for inpatients and outpatients.

You will also be involved in continuous quality improvement and education activities, participating in our CME, research and teaching program. As a team player, you will demonstrate competency in routine and common procedural ward-based skills, and possess high-level skills in negotiation and communication, exhibiting empathy for patients and their relatives and family.
