We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Perioperative Specialist to join our team at Friendly Society Private Hospital. As a Central Sterilising Department Attendant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our sterilisation services and contributing to the overall cleanliness and safety of our surgical instruments and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and collaborate with the central sterilising department to ensure the cleaning, decontamination, assembly, and dispensing of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Support our clinical team in the theatre complex, which performs a wide range of surgeries, including ENT, General, Plastic and Cosmetic, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Urology, and Vascular Surgery.
- Work closely with the team to maintain high standards of infection control and sterilisation, adhering to relevant standards and guidelines.
- Assist in the operation and monitoring of specialised equipment, such as autoclaves and sterilisers.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the efficient and effective use of resources and equipment.
- Certificate III or IV in Health Services Assistance (Sterilising Services) or willingness to obtain.
- Working knowledge of sterilisation and infection control standards, with experience in operating and monitoring specialised equipment.
- Ability to perform manual tasks and meet the physical demands of the role.
- Sound knowledge of surgical instruments, instrument care, and packing techniques.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions and work autonomously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, and Explorer.
