Job Description

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Geographic Information Systems Analyst. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with Python programming and be familiar with GIS software and tools.

  • Managing geospatial data types and creating/editing features to a high technical standard is essential for this position.
  • Processing data to produce results relevant to various technical disciplines is a key responsibility of this role.
  • Automation and development of models to manage geospatial data is also required.
  • Designing, implementing, and testing efficient workflows for clients is crucial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cartography: Prepare input data for map publication; source data from various repositories; use good design sense and basic cartographic principles.
  • Desktop GIS: Manage different geospatial data types; create and edit geospatial features to a high technical standard; process data to produce results relevant to various technical disciplines.
  • Web and mobile GIS: Design, implement, and test efficient workflows for clients.
  • Field surveys: Prepare documentation and equipment for field work deployments; conduct field surveys efficiently.
  • Project management: Budget time and be accountable for hours spent on a project; report on project status clearly and efficiently.
  • Communication: Communicate informatively and concisely; attend weekly project meetings and keep minutes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Essential: First aid level 2; manual driver's license.
  • Desirable: Up to five years' experience in a GIS role; well-developed skills in Python, SQL, Arcade, and ArcPy.
