Senior School Mathematics Curriculum Lead

This role involves providing strategic leadership and coordination to our Senior School Mathematics curriculum. The position holder will be responsible for leading a team of mathematics educators to deliver high-quality learning experiences that cater to the diverse needs of students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with colleagues to design, develop, and implement the Senior School Mathematics curriculum, ensuring alignment with educational standards and best practices.
  • Teaching Coordination: Coordinate the teaching of SACE Mathematics in the Senior School, working closely with teachers to ensure effective lesson planning, delivery, and assessment.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Lead and contribute to departmental meetings, in-house professional learning, and collaborative curriculum development to promote shared understanding and expertise among staff members.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Oversee the design, proofing, and standardisation of assessments to ensure they are valid, reliable, and reflective of student learning outcomes.
  • Resource Management: Maintain curriculum documentation and resources, ensuring easy access and sharing among staff members.
  • Enrichment Opportunities: Promote and coordinate enrichment opportunities for students to extend their learning beyond the classroom.
  • Academic Support: Provide targeted academic support through maths help sessions to address individual student needs.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and support the induction of new and pre-service teachers to facilitate their transition into the school community.
  • Departmental Planning: Contribute to departmental planning, annual reporting, staffing proposals, and resource management to ensure efficient use of resources and effective teaching practices.
