Health Safety and Environment Professional

This role is for a Safety, Health and Environment professional who can facilitate and develop risk assessments in alignment with project schedules. The successful candidate will have the capability to handle multiple complex situations simultaneously.
- Develop, schedule and champion a project specific SHET Monitoring Program directly informed by completed, activity specific risk assessments
- Monitor the effectiveness of the application of the Safety and Health, Environment and Training Management Plans on site and provide advice to the Project Manager on possible improvement initiatives
- Notify, classify and record in the incident database all incidents that occur on the project such that a complete and accurate incident record exists
- Conduct audits, inspections and observations to demonstrate visible safety leadership and sound audit practice
The ideal candidate will have a Diploma level qualification or equivalent experience and minimum two years mining site-based experience. They will also be able to lead and facilitate risk assessments associated with mining work and have experience in auditing, incident reporting and incident investigation.
This role offers an opportunity to contribute to broader health, safety and environment (HSE) improvement programs and to work with a diverse team of professionals. The successful candidate will be based at the Curragh Mine project located near Blackwater.

You will be working on a DIDO basis from the Central Qld Region on an 8/6 roster. Camp accommodation is provided if required.
