Heavy Diesel Mechanic Job Description

Thiess is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on heavy diesel equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy diesel mechanics, with experience working on complex equipment and systems. They will also possess excellent diagnostic skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and filter replacements;
  • Repairing and troubleshooting complex equipment and systems;
  • Conducting safety inspections and identifying potential hazards;
  • Collaborating with colleagues to resolve technical issues and improve workflow efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Post-trade experience working in the mining or heavy earth moving industry;
  • Cert III in Heavy Diesel Fitting or equivalent;
  • Strong diagnostic skills and attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
