Senior Cybersecurity Analyst

About the Role
The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to join our Cybersecurity Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in protecting APRA's information, assets, and infrastructure from cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead threat hunting activities, cyber incidents, and incident response efforts to ensure the security and integrity of APRA's systems and data.
- Apply a risk-based approach to solving complex cybersecurity issues and provide technical advice to key stakeholders.
- Conduct research on current threats and industry trends to identify opportunities to improve APRA's security posture.
- Review and improve cyber-playbooks to reflect industry best practices and ensure alignment with APRA's Information Security Manual (ISM).
- Use vulnerability management, penetration testing, and threat hunting data to reduce cybersecurity risk and improve the overall security posture of APRA.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of security administration for projects and initiatives.
- Promote cross-skilling, knowledge sharing, and communication initiatives within the team to foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of an effective 24-hour incident response capability.
- Demonstrate and promote the principles of workplace diversity and inclusion.
About You
- Working knowledge of PSPF, ISM, E8, and CPS234 frameworks.
- Senior-level experience in a SOC or security-related role, with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
- An 'always learning, always improving' mindset, with a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats and trends.
- Experience with vulnerability management, threat hunting, and cyber threat intelligence platforms.
- Experience with CORIE and TIBER frameworks, as well as certifications such as GCIA, GCIH, OSCP, and CASP+.
- Tertiary qualifications in cybersecurity or security engineering disciplines, as well as membership in professional organizations such as AISA, ISACA, and ISC2.
