Safety Specialist

Safety specialists play a critical role in ensuring the well-being of construction project teams by implementing and monitoring occupational health and safety (OHS) practices.
Key Responsibilities:- OHS Management
- Frequently monitor OHS practices on construction projects through inspections to identify areas for improvement.
- Provide expert guidance and support to project teams to ensure compliance with OHS legislation and regulations.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify potential health and safety risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Build strong relationships with external stakeholders, including contractors, to enhance safety performance.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to influence positive change and improve safety standards.
- Safety Governance
- Understand the APAM Safety Management System and implement processes as required.
- Perform administrative tasks associated with implementing and maintaining the safety management system, including record management.
- Review contractor safety management plans to ensure they comply with OHS requirements.
- Incident Reporting
- Work closely with project teams and external contractors to report, investigate, and address incidents promptly.
- Assist in collecting safety data and producing regular reports.
