What We Do

Cross River Rail is a new 10.2 kilometre rail line from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills, including 5.9 kilometres of tunnel under the Brisbane River and CBD.

The RIS package is crucial to the overall delivery and success of Cross River Rail, integrating with the Queensland Rail network.

  • Rail civil and electrical works
  • Brownfield rail surface works primarily north of the tunnel, including an upgrade of Exhibition Station and major augmentation of Mayne Yard
  • Upgrade of six suburban stations to the south
  • Rail operational systems works
  • Rail signalling works and communication, integration and commission activities
Your Opportunity

As a Permit Supervisor, you will manage rail corridor access and coordinate recipients for the project to deliver the RIS Works in accordance with specified requirements and client expectations.

You will be accountable to:

  • Develop and manage safe systems of work, including recipient access with the Safety Management Plan and associated procedures
  • Implement and manage a recipient permit system
  • Develop permit procedures
  • Assistance with deliverables required for the project Monthly Reporting
  • Participate in weekly Safety Inspections and Task Observations with the project delivery team to provide advice, guidance and support in identification and rectification of issues
  • Supporting the use of, including undertaking monitoring and auditing of the records management system for safety records
  • Participate in investigations, as requested by the WHS Manager or Senior Safety Advisor, into all related accidents/incidents to identify root causes and appropriate corrective/preventative actions
Requirements

We require candidates with:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role on a Major Project
  • Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (Mandatory)
  • Cert IV in Health and Safety (Preferred)
  • Prior experience acting as a Person in Control of permitting systems
  • Experience in delivery of training packages for permit systems
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to UNITY's WHS Cultural Framework including policies, Safety Essentials and management system requirements and expectations
