Freight Strategist Role

This position plays a pivotal role in shaping the freight landscape of Queensland.

  • The ideal candidate will possess expertise in developing multi-modal freight plans, strategies, and policies that inform decision-making for an integrated, resilient, and safe freight system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level advice on freight strategies and policies to support government priorities and direction.
  • Develop executive-level briefing notes, reports, submissions, business cases, and other correspondence in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Support specific multi-modal freight activities and projects that deliver on government priorities and departmental strategies.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, reporting, and review of departmental freight programs and initiatives under the Queensland Freight Strategy and Queensland Freight Action Plan.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Director (Freight) and the wider freight team to ensure effective program governance, reporting, and administrative activities. Building and maintaining effective networks and relationships with internal and external stakeholders is also essential.
