Job Summary

The WHSE Officer plays a vital role in enhancing and implementing WHSE Systems, Processes, and Procedures, in accordance with legislative and organizational requirements.

This position provides support that contributes positively to the health, safety, and well-being of all employees, contractors, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote a high level of standard across health, safety, and environmental management in the region and adhere to safe work practices at all times.
  • Be willing to learn and develop as a WHSE Professional
  • Support the development and deployment of company policies, systems, and programs to ensure positive WHSE outcomes are reached for staff, clients, and contractors
  • Deliver WHSE training to staff on industry best practice, organizational requirements, legislative requirements, and topical WHSE items for the region
  • Assist with accident/incident investigations and prevention initiatives and strategies
  • Support project and facility compliance events including audits, inspections, observations, and reviews.
  • Communicate effectively across the business, in open forums, and in response to WHSE related requirements - ability to seek advice and learn how to best approach WHSE across projects and business as things arise.
  • Provide written and documented KPI reports for projects and facilities
  • Participate in WHSE in Construction, Project, and Facility Risk Assessments
  • Respond to workplace, project, and facility demands with clear and concise methods and a good ability to prioritize demands
  • Collaborate with colleagues as a team player with a strong work ethic and ability to engage with all workers, in person.
  • Comfortable attending construction site-based projects, facility workshops, and office environments and have an understanding of the WHSE related risks that may occur within.
Required Skills and Qualifications

A successful candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work collaboratively as part of a team, and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

In addition, they should have a solid understanding of WHSE principles and practices, be familiar with relevant legislation and regulations, and have experience working in a similar role or industry.
