Aboriginal Child Protection Caseworker Role

We are seeking skilled professionals to join our team as Aboriginal Child Protection Caseworkers.

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable children, young people, and their families by working collaboratively with them and other agencies.

  • You will assist families in formulating goals that align with their needs, addressing safety and well-being concerns, and provide appropriate assistance through regular home visits.
  • Develop and implement effective safety plans and complete thorough risk assessments to mitigate potential harm.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of local communities and their needs, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Requirements:
  • A relevant diploma or degree qualification is highly desirable.
  • Applicants without a relevant qualification should have at least two years' experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • A valid driver's licence is essential for this role.
  • A paid working with children clearance number is mandatory.
  • Documented verification of Aboriginality is required.

This role is open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons.
