About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team at Rheinmetall Defence Australia Pty Ltd in Brisbane. As a key member of our Quality team, you will be responsible for optimizing the quality planning process, specifically in relation to project-related parts, services, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct supplier audits in accordance with the VDA 6.3 standard to ensure products and process quality and compliance;
  • Assist with choosing, evaluating, and approving new supplies;
  • Manage First Article Inspections (FAI) activities to evaluate compliance and ensure quality for both parts and assemblies;
  • Guide suppliers in process implementation and ensure they are fully prepared for production launch;
  • Ensure non-conformance are documented, resolved, and prevent future issues through cross-functional problem-solving;
  • Track and follow-up on improvement actions from audit findings and non-conformances;
  • Monitor and report supplier performance.
Requirements
  • 3+ Years or equivalent tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Manufacturing discipline, providing a solid technical background;
  • Proven experience working in a similar role and engaging with external suppliers;
  • Extensive Quality management, planning, and auditing experience;
  • Experienced in deploying Quality tools and techniques;
  • Extensive experience conducting Audits and managing improvement programs;
  • Industry experience in heavy vehicle, defence, automotive is highly desirable;
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Ability to travel extensively interstate and international when required;
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
