Opportunity

We seek an experienced Performance Coach for Strength Training to join our Northcote team. This role involves educating and supervising clients on the training floor to achieve long-term health outcomes through strength training.

The ideal candidate will combine traditional exercise science methods with education on the benefits of strength training, empowering clients to restore strength and confidence.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct 1:1 and group sessions, strength assessments, and movement analysis with clients
  • Apply scientific concepts (biomechanics, physiology, sports psychology, motor control) and evidence-based practices to support clients
  • Provide evidence-based advice on health, fitness, well-being, and physical performance
  • Develop and implement exercise prescriptions and plans for clients
  • Establish, assess, and reassess goals for new and long-term clients
  • Guide athletes or clients with fitness goals to achieve peak performance and recover from injury
  • Complete administrative duties as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise/Sports Science or related discipline with relevant units completed
  • OR currently undertaking third year (or subsequent) of study in Bachelor of Physiotherapy with relevant placement/practicum learning
  • Valid working rights in Australia
  • First Aid & CPR Certification
  • Working with Children Check
  • National Police Check

Desirable Qualifications

  • 1-2 years relevant work experience
  • Previous private practice experience
  • Previous experience with long-term management of client outcomes in a strength training environment

Salary Package

$65,000 - $80,000 per annum depending on experience
