About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Thrift Shop Manager to lead the operations of our Colac Corps Thrift Shop. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service, managing cash handling and banking, and maintaining the overall appearance and upkeep of the shop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maximise sales and revenue through effective processing of donations, including receiving, sorting, pricing, and displaying saleable goods.
  • Delegate responsibility for collecting items to volunteers or manage collections during working hours to ensure timely completion.
  • Implement stock and mannequin rotation, as well as stock management processes, to maintain optimal store stock levels and maximise sales.
  • Ensure the shop is always presentable and inviting through regular cleaning and maintenance.
  • Develop and implement retail sales opportunities, both in-store and externally, to increase sales and revenue.
  • Provide training, guidance, and feedback to staff, including performance management, supervision meetings, and conflict resolution.
  • Lead a safe workplace by promoting work health and safety standards.
Requirements
  • A current Victoria Driver Licence.
  • The physical ability to safely sit, stand, walk regularly, and for long periods of time.
  • The physical ability to push, pull, lift, and carry items up to 10 kilos in weight.
  • The physical ability to climb ladders.
  • 2+ years of demonstrated and relevant retail industry experience.
  • Experience in retail management is desirable.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in cash handling, financial management, and team leadership.
  • Prior experience in a charitable recycling retail operation is desirable.
  • Completed First Aid (PFA) training.
