About the Opportunity

The University of Tasmania is seeking an experienced Senior IoT Software Developer to join our research team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing and deploying acoustic recognition technologies to low-powered devices in remote environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and assembly of prototype devices from off-the-shelf components
  • Co-designing and implementing onboard software to manage device behavior and communication over a LoRa network
  • Documenting device and software
  • Developing a data dashboard with assistance from project partners

Requirements

  • Experience in design and implementation of IoT devices, including software stacks
  • Experience in web development
  • Basic knowledge of machine learning
  • Demonstrated ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in a research setting
  • Experience deploying IoT devices in exposed environments

What We Offer

Appointment to this role will be at Research Assistant Level 3 and will have a total remuneration package of $99,930 comprising base salary of $85,410 plus 17% superannuation.
