Electrical engineers are in high demand, and this is a unique opportunity to work on major energy providers' distribution grids. A Distribution Design Engineer will aid in the upgrades of these grids, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems operating from 4kV through 138kV.
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements, design standards, and quality expectations.
  • Perform engineering calculations such as structural analysis, guying calculations, conductor sags and tensions, voltage drop, and flicker.
  • Prepare permitting documents for different authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Provide engineering support during construction and verify that all applicable standards have been met.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial) from an accredited institution.
  • Proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
  • Construction background, design experience, civil engineering knowledge, electrical expertise, and programming skills.
  • Work Management Systems (WMS) SAP B1 and/or SAGE experience.
  • Distribution design tool proficiency, such as BOUD, Pole Foreman, SOCKET, Spida-Calc, or similar.
  • Familiarity with NESC and design standards.
