Maintenance Fitter Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our team in Melbourne. As a key member of our operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our production machinery.

Your primary responsibility will be to attend to breakdowns promptly, implementing preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.

  • Promptly address production machinery failures to prevent extended downtime.
  • Develop and implement routine maintenance schedules to enhance machine and line performance.
  • Analyze equipment malfunctions and provide recommendations to mitigate risks and improve systems.
  • Accurately document all work performed in the maintenance system, including relevant documentation.
  • Perform fabrication tasks such as welding, cutting, and grinding.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and take ownership of maintenance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Adhere to established Health, Safety, Environment, and Regulatory (HSER) policies and procedures.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of post-trade experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment.
  • Experience working with pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Australian Trade Qualifications or Trade Recognition - Mechanical/Maintenance Fitter, Fitter/Machinist.
  • Familiarity with 5S, Kaizen, and Lean principles.
  • Proficiency in using SAP.
  • Desirable: Boiler attendant license, forklift license, and EWP license.
