Job Role: ICT Service Desk Specialist

The role of the ICT Service Desk Specialist involves overseeing the upkeep, enhancement, and support of client ICT environments.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provision of day-to-day system administration and support services for client systems, servers, and infrastructure.
  • Monitoring of system health, capacity, and performance utilizing relevant tools and dashboards.
  • Timely resolution of escalated service requests and incidents in accordance with established service level agreements.
  • Administration of Service Desks across various government networks with diverse sizes and classifications.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant service operation standards, service level agreements, and ITIL-based service management practices.
  • Participation in on-call and 24x7 support rosters as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting Microsoft technologies such as Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
  • Experience working with virtualisation platforms (e.g. VMWare, Nutanix, Hyper-V).
  • Working knowledge of network fundamentals (e.g. TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls, routing/switching).
  • ITIL V3/4 Foundation Certification.
  • NV1 Security clearance (with ability to upgrade to NV2).
  • Capacity to methodically troubleshoot complex issues and communicate findings clearly.
  • Strong documentation and organisational skills.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
  • 2+ years' experience in a similar Systems Administration or IT support role.
  • Experience working with government ICT products, services, and programs.
  • Experience working with Redhat technologies (e.g. RHEL 7/8/9)
  • Familiarity with monitoring platforms (e.g. Elastic, SCOM).
  • Experience working with backup and DR solutions (e.g. HYCU, DPM, Veeam).
