Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Support Specialist to join our team in Mandurah, WA.

The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating community development initiatives and collective solutions to address issues, needs and problems associated with recreational, health, housing, employment and other welfare matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess community need and resources for health, welfare, housing, employment, training and other facilities and services.
  • Develop and implement educational, training and supportive programs to meet the needs of individuals and communities.
  • Monitor and report client progress, and provide support with daily living and personal care.
  • Liaise with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies and private businesses to promote awareness of community resources and services.
  • Supervise offenders on probation and parole, and prepare paperwork for funding and resources.
Requirements
  • Minimum two years of experience in a similar role.
  • First Aid Certificate/CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
  • Valid Driver's Licence/own reliable, licensed car with comprehensive car insurance.
  • National Police Check.
  • Current Working with Children Check or willingness to get one.
  • Need to have full working rights in Australia or an appropriate visa.
  • Manual Handling Certificate or willingness to get one.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Certificate III/IV in Disability Services, Aged Care or equivalent.
  • Other qualifications related to this position.
