About the RoleWe are seeking a proactive, visionary professional to lead our Gladstone Region Engaging in Action Together (GRT) team as the Executive Director. As a public ambassador for the region, you will amplify the place-based work and represent local needs within state and national networks and forums.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the GRT Leadership Group, Operations Manager, and Backbone Team in strategic positioning aligned to GRT's principles and collective impact methodology.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, oversee financial management, and leverage collective impact methodologies to guide the Backbone team in enabling the community-led social change movement.
- Role model the confidence and humility required to lead from behind, guiding the team in community engagement, data analysis, and solution co-design.
- Serve as a public ambassador for the Gladstone Region, amplifying the place-based work and representing local needs within state and national networks and forums.
- Advanced degree in social, human rights policy, political, business, or related field.
- At least 5-10 years of relevant work experience, including at least 3 years enabling high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Executive presence to inspire confidence and passion in both internal and external audiences.
- Advanced strategy and planning skills, including an ability to think strategically on both organisational and systemic levels over multi-year horizons.
- Strong data acumen and ability to oversee complex shared-measurement systems.
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills before multiple types of audiences.
- Local knowledge of the Gladstone Region.
- Familiarity with first nations communities and history within the Australian or local context.
- Familiarity with Australian and Queensland social sector networks and political environments.
- Community development, social change, or collective impact experience.
