We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at Hudson Institute of Medical Research. As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will play a key role in conducting high-throughput functional genomics screens using CRISPR/Cas9 technology to identify and progress new therapeutic targets in childhood brain cancer.
You will work closely with our computational biologists to process multi-omics pipelines and apply new analytical methods to identify new therapeutic targets and predictive biomarkers of response in childhood cancers. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of researchers and clinicians in a supportive and flexible working environment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct high-throughput functional genomics screens using CRISPR/Cas9 technology
- Work with computational biologists to process multi-omics pipelines and apply new analytical methods
- Identify new therapeutic targets and predictive biomarkers of response in childhood cancers
- Develop and implement new research directions that complement existing themes
- Collaborate with other researchers to establish and contribute to collaborative research projects
- Supervise students and junior staff members
- PhD in Biology/Medical Sciences or related area
- Experience in bioinformatics and research into pediatric cancers
- Previous experience with mammalian tissue culture, molecular biology techniques, and CRISPR/Cas9 technology
- Familiarity with bioinformatics and interpretation of NGS/large omics data sets
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a cross-disciplinary research team
