About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and creative Senior Animator to join our team in Melbourne, Australia.

As a key member of our global team, you will work collaboratively with artists and engineers across various locations to deliver high-quality animations that enhance character understanding, emotional depth, and gameplay goals.

Your mission as a Senior Animator is to create complex and believable in-game and cinematic animations using Motion Capture editing and Key Framing techniques. You will work closely with the department lead on shot assignments and animation tasks to achieve the best visual and narrative results.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams including Design, Engineering, and Environment will be essential to drive project success.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Developing game motions for gameplay mechanics, cinematics, viewmodel/weapon animations, or third-person vignettes
  • Demonstrating expertise in camera animation, cinematic framing, shot continuity, and facial animation
  • Delivering high-quality AAA titles through iterative development and troubleshooting
  • Improving workflows for efficiency and creativity
  • Providing input on performance concerns, scope assessment, and risk mitigation

Requirements:

  • Necessary Qualifications:
  • Strong professional animation experience
  • In-depth experience as a game animator
  • Knowledge of Cinematic and Motion Capture Editing and cleanup
  • Strong fundamentals in human movement
  • Ability to adapt to new tools and technologies
  • Expertise in Maya
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills across departments
  • Mentoring abilities for Junior Animators
  • Familiarity with philosophical approaches to character movement
