Job Description

As a Heavy Equipment Operator with Flinders Port Holdings, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient loading and unloading of containers from trucks. This position requires someone with a high level of confidence in computer usage, including Windows, Word, Excel, email, web, and internal operating systems.

Key Responsibilities:
▸ Load and unload containers from trucks and ITV's using correct procedures and equipment;
▸ Perform container movements as required;
▸ Ensure all containers are stacked according to current yard requirements;
▸ Process work flows in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner;
▸ Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of transactions as required;
▸ Stay familiar with all relevant government regulations and compliance;
▸ Foster positive relationships with internal and external customers, providers, and contractors;
▸ Promote and follow safe working practices at all times.

About You
Our ideal candidate will have:
▸ A current High Risk Forklift Licence and experience driving heavy forklifts;
▸ Previous experience in the container industry or a similar role is highly regarded;
▸ Experience with container handling on and off-road trucks;
▸ Excellent communication and comprehension skills for interacting with stakeholders;
▸ A high level of initiative for identifying and independently addressing problems as they arise;
▸ Ability to work constructively within a team environment.
