Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician to provide outpatient Addiction Medicine Services in the Western Communities area.

About the Role
  • Maintain opioid agonist therapy (OAT) for stable clients.
  • Conduct new patient consultations and initiate OAT for clients with opioid use disorder.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning for patients, focusing on managing withdrawal symptoms.
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with complex overlapping pain and addiction disorders.
  • Initiate anti-craving medication for clients with alcohol use disorder.
Responsibilities
  • Direct Patient Care: Provide medical care to patients with substance use disorders.
  • Indirect Patient Care: Document patient care, review diagnostic tests, and participate in team meetings.
  • Clinical Administrative Services: Engage in clinically related administrative activities, including medical audits and chart reviews.
Qualifications
  • Medical degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid medical license in the province of British Columbia.
  • Board certification in Addiction Medicine (preferred).
  • Experience in providing addiction medicine services and treating substance use disorders.
