Program Technical Lead Overview

The Program Technical Lead plays a pivotal role in steering the technical direction of engineering operations. This senior position empowers you to collaborate with key stakeholders, establish connections with global engineering professionals, and interact with senior figures in defence.

As a leader, your responsibilities will include:

  • Making critical technical decisions
  • Evaluating design options and change proposals
  • Spearheading the technical decision-making process

You will work closely with the Product Architect, technical specialists, and the design authority to ensure that the design approach aligns with technical requirements.

To be successful, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science
  • Previous experience in leading technical aspects of engineering projects, encompassing hardware and software development and integration into larger systems
  • Demonstrated ability to represent the company as a technical expert at internal and external customer meetings
  • Robust leadership abilities with a track record of making technical decisions and mentoring fellow team members
  • Experience and expertise in command, control, and communications systems within a defence context
  • Proven track record as a systems engineer across all phases of the systems development lifecycle
  • Previous involvement in bid and pursuit activities within the Australian government's acquisition framework
