Seeking an experienced Senior Mandarin Language Tutor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality language tutoring and leading curriculum development.

About the Role

A reputable institution in Victoria is looking for a seasoned Senior Mandarin Language Tutor to design and implement a comprehensive Mandarin language and culture curriculum, author original resources, develop assessments, and mentor other tutors.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver engaging Mandarin language lessons to students of all levels, both face-to-face and online.
  • Prepare structured lessons that foster speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills, as well as cultural understanding.
  • Develop and maintain a curriculum framework that adapts content for Victorian school learners.
  • Author original teaching materials, including textbooks, workbooks, lesson plans, and digital modules.
  • Design and implement assessments, marking rubrics, and provide progress reports to parents/caregivers.
  • Mentor and support casual and part-time tutors; conduct observations and professional development workshops.
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in Mandarin language teaching through training, conferences, and literature.
  • Plan and deliver Mandarin cultural workshops and community engagement events.
  • Monitor program performance indicators and implement improvement strategies.
  • School Administration Tasks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Substantial experience (minimum 5 years) in teaching Mandarin language and culture.
  • Background in private tuition school management, including program coordination, staff supervision, and operational oversight.
  • Sound understanding of Mandarin language and culture, with ability to integrate cultural elements into instruction.
  • Relevant University-level qualifications or suitable substitute.
  • Certification in Teaching Chinese/Mandarin Language.
  • Experience in designing and leading Mandarin language curriculum.
  • Native fluency in Mandarin and excellent English communication skills.
  • Proven ability to develop curriculum and create teaching resources.
  • Strong classroom management, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Current WWCC and ability to meet child safety requirements.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between school campuses.

Additional Requirements

The successful candidate must have unrestricted full-time Australian working rights.
