Tactical Skills Trainer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tactical Skills Trainer to join our team. As a key member of our training department, you will be responsible for delivering tactical skills training to instructors and correctional officers across Queensland Corrective Services.

  • Deliver high-quality firearms, tactical skills, and chemical agents training programs that meet the needs of our staff and students.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to design and implement instructional standards that ensure consistency in training across all tactical skills programs.
  • Evaluate training tools and assessments to ensure they align with departmental policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver training content that is engaging, informative, and relevant to the needs of our staff and students.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development within our organization.
  • Liaise with center management to coordinate training calendars and ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements.
Requirements:
  • Degree in a related field such as education, psychology, or criminology.
  • Relevant experience in training and development, preferably in a corrections setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
