Ensuring the smooth operation of our milk tanker fleet is crucial to delivering high-quality products to our customers.
Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team, responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy and multi-vehicle combination milk tanker trucks.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain and repair complex diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical equipment on heavy vehicles.
- Collaborate with drivers and coordinators to ensure efficient milk transportation and minimize downtime.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to vehicle breakdowns, including faults with milk flow meters.
- Implement safe transfer procedures to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- A minimum Certificate III in Mechanical Trade or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the transport industry, particularly with diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- A current Heavy Combination (HC) driver's license is desirable but not essential.
- Experience with both automatic and manual trucks, especially Volvos, is highly regarded.
- The ability to work independently, handle pressure, and maintain high standards for the fleet.
