Job Title: Strategic Partners Segment Lead

  • This role involves overseeing a cross-functional team dedicated to delivering exceptional customer experiences and innovative energy solutions within Origin Zero for our largest strategic customers.

The Strategic Partners Segment Lead manages customer accounts throughout their lifecycle, ensuring seamless touchpoints across Origin Zero and the broader Origin group.

This includes developing tailored propositions spanning electricity and natural gas, renewable energy solutions (grid-scale and behind the meter), energy storage, demand management, VPP, emission reduction strategies, and driving sustainable growth and value creation within the segment.

">">Key Responsibilities">">
  • Sets the vision and mission for their segment and team in alignment with the Origin Zero strategy.
  • Leads and oversees the customer relationships managed by the segment through full lifecycle, collaborating closely with internal teams across Origin (such as Wholesale & Trading and Future Energy) and any external partners, to deliver exceptional customer experience and value creation.
  • Maximises value delivery within the team through continuous prioritisation of work.
  • Is accountable for delivery of team objectives, which contribute towards the overall objectives of Origin Zero.
  • Leads a cross-functional team (including business development, account management, product, solution engineering, and program delivery) to deliver targeted outcomes.
  • Works with the Head of Strategic Partners and the wider organisation to set and define quarterly business goals and objectives for their segment.
  • Participates in key value stream events to provide direction and bring alignment.
  • Collaborates with other Segment Leads and Practice Leads to ensure alignment between customer value propositions and segment strategies.
  • Works with key stakeholders across the organisation to develop and test new propositions for their particular segment.
  • Drives a relentless customer focus to build a customer-obsessed culture within their team.

  • You will embody a growth mindset, demonstrate accountability, exhibit strategic thinking paired with execution capability.
  • At least 10 years' experience in the energy industry generally.
  • At least 7 years' experience in commodity energy markets (either at wholesale or commercial & industrial level).
  • At least 5 years' experience in B2B business development or enterprise account roles.
  • Experience with solar, BESS, demand flexibility, and/or other non-commodity energy solutions.
  • Proven people leadership experience, ideally with cross-functional or matrix team structures or business development teams.
  • Experience in project management.
