Job Title: Education Support Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and caring individual to join our team as an Education Support Specialist. This role will provide essential support to teachers, students, and parents, contributing to the delivery of high-quality educational programs.

  • This position plays a vital role in coordinating educational programs, supporting teachers with lesson planning, and communicating effectively with parents and guardians.
  • As an Education Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing routine support to teachers, including assisting with planning student routines, supporting communication between teachers and parents, and addressing immediate behavioral presentations.

The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be able to work independently or as part of a team, and have a strong commitment to providing quality education and care to students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides routine support to teachers, including assisting with lesson planning, implementing classroom routines, and maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Supports communication between teachers and parents/guardians through regular updates, parent-teacher conferences, and other means as required.
  • Assists with preparing materials, equipment, and resources for lessons, ensuring that they are available and accessible for students.
  • Addresses immediate behavioral presentations by using proactive strategies, de-escalation techniques, and positive reinforcement methods to minimize disruptions and maintain a respectful classroom environment.
  • Provides basic physical care and wellbeing support for students, such as toileting, meals, and lifting, while prioritizing their safety and dignity.
  • Communicates effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members to ensure seamless collaboration and coordination.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certificate III in Education Support or related field preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, teachers, and other stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and reporting requirements is desirable.
