Role Description:

As a mental health recovery specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting carers and families through meaningful relationships. You will provide person-centred peer support to empower carers, families, and significant others of mental health service consumers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Sharing your lived experience to educate and advocate for carers through individual and group support
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and community organisations to enhance carer support services
• Facilitating psychoeducation programs and support groups, contributing to service development and training
• Providing expertise in recovery principles and experience delivering peer-led education or support groups

About Your Qualifications:

We seek a compassionate and experienced peer worker who understands the journey of mental health caregiving and is passionate about supporting others. Key qualifications include:

• Personal lived experience as a carer for someone with mental health or substance use challenges
• Skilled communicator able to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
• Knowledge of recovery principles and experience delivering peer-led education or support groups
• Commitment to professional boundaries, ongoing learning, and advocating for carers' voices
