We are seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to join our team. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will provide personalized support and practical assistance to individuals, inspiring hope and empowering them to believe in their ability to recover.
The ideal candidate will possess a personal lived experience of mental health and/or substance use issues and recovery. They will be able to develop a better understanding of the recovery framework and inspire consumers through tailored education, information, referrals, and support.
This role requires the ability to work collaboratively with Adult Mental Health Services, key service providers, and non-government organizations to promote a culture of recovery and resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized peer support and practical assistance to consumers.
- Assist consumers in developing a better understanding of the recovery framework.
- Inspire and support consumers through tailored education, information, referrals, and support.
Requirements:
- Personal lived experience of mental health and/or substance use issues and recovery.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Adult Mental Health Services, key service providers, and non-government organizations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
