Design Mechanical Engineer

We're looking for a skilled Design Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Sydney Building Services team, you'll be responsible for delivering innovative solutions for accessible, resilient and liveable communities.

About the Role

The role involves providing mechanical design expertise on single and multi-disciplinary projects. You'll work closely with our team to deliver best practice and outcomes for clients, saving on costs and time.

  • You'll take lead on small to medium size engineering design projects and support larger projects.
  • You'll communicate effectively with all external and internal stakeholders and project teams.
  • You'll be a supporting figure and mentor for lesser experienced engineers.
  • You'll build solid client relationships and recognize business development opportunities.
  • You'll represent and promote the business with the local and regional markets.
About You

To be successful in this role, you'll need to hold a recognized Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering. You'll also need to demonstrate expertise in designing mechanical services systems (air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems).

  • You'll have the ability to coordinate and understand relevant building services disciplines, including Electrical, Hydraulic, Fire Protection, and Environmentally Sustainable Design.
  • You'll have proven project experience in the building services sector across Infrastructure, Property & Buildings, Defence, Healthcare, Educational, and/or Mission Critical facilities.
  • You'll possess a working knowledge of Australian building codes and standards, local WA experience an advantage.
  • You'll ensure registration (or eligibility for registration) in the professional engineer register of the relevant state for the building/construction industry.
  • You'll demonstrate a history of effectively managing competing priorities, prioritizing work, and meeting tight deadlines.
  • You'll have the ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • You'll be a capable project and people leader - train, and mentor junior engineers, coupled with effective communication skills at all levels.
