Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team.

The role will be based in Artarmon or Somersby and offers a hybrid working arrangement.

About the Role:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key part in supporting our business through the development of innovative engineering solutions for new products and equipment. Your primary focus will be on designing, developing, and implementing mechanical integrity and operability for various process equipment designs and associated systems.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely creation of 3D models, drawings, and other necessary documentation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Demonstrate creativity and take an active lead in ideation, developing concept designs with novel features.
  2. Prepare 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings utilizing parametric and synchronous modeling techniques.
  3. Ensure suitable completion of major mechanical and structural design functions, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  4. Develop and implement designs that prioritize safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  5. Collaborate with teams to oversee the safe on-site installation, commissioning, and operation of prototypes and trial equipment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Master's preferred)
  • At least 10 years of experience in minerals processing equipment
  • In-depth knowledge of NX modeling, Teamcenter, and Ansys FEA software
  • Familiarity with structural design, pressure vessel design, piping system design, and rotating shaft design
