This is a career-defining opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced Insurance Professional to join our team. As a Senior Underwriter, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining profitable business within the allocated regions portfolio of insurance.
The ideal candidate will have multi-line property and casualty experience or a strong desire to develop it, with at least 5 years of underwriting and business development experience. They should also possess excellent broker relationship skills, commercial lines expertise, and an ANZIIF Associate qualification (completed or in progress) or relevant tertiary qualifications.
The role requires autonomy in underwriting medium to complex risks, as well as collaboration with an experienced team. You will enjoy genuine variety in your work, including regular visits to brokers and clients across the Southern Region. - Assist in the growth and maintenance of profitable business within the allocated regions portfolio of insurance
- Undertake personal underwriting of schemes and medium to large sized policies, including new business
- Deliver professional and efficient customer service to brokers and distribution partners, as well as internal colleagues
- Assist the Commercial Team Leader and wider Underwriting and Distribution team in maximising the profitability of the portfolio
- Contribute to the alignment of risk and compliance management practices within the allocated portfolio
