Labourer - Rural Job Details

The Careers at Council organisation is seeking a Labourer - Rural to join the Rural Works Team in Lithgow, NSW. This multi-skilled role offers opportunities for upskilling and ongoing development.

This position involves performing general duties as directed by the Rural Works Coordinator. Tasks may include laying pipes and other related stormwater infrastructure, maintaining/operating plant and equipment, producing concrete structures, controlling traffic, performing roadworks, and acting in higher grade roles throughout the rural works team.

About the Role
  • Laying pipes and other related stormwater infrastructure
  • Maintaining operating plant and equipment
  • Producing concrete structures such as footpaths drives and retaining walls
  • Controlling traffic including completing setup procedures per Traffic Control Plans maintaining traffic flow and reporting traffic problems
  • Performing roadworks including setup construction and maintenance of roads
Your Skills and Qualifications
  • Class C Driver's Licence
  • Previous Labouring Experience
  • WH&S Induction for Construction Work Whitecard
  • Traffic Control Tickets Stop Slow and Apply Traffic Control Plans
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles of honesty and integrity
  • Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of WHS

An ideal candidate would have experience with concrete set-out trades assistant and plant operation from previous roles and a current First Aid Certificate.
