Senior Safety and Health Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Safety and Health Advisor to join our team in Melbourne, working on a landmark infrastructure project that will shape the city's public transport network.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the project complies with statutory, contractual, and safety management system obligations. They will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of health and safety systems, developing and enforcing standards, contributing to the development and delivery of project goals, and fostering a proactive and positive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety systems through regular audits, reviews, and assessments.
- Assist in the development and enforcement of standards to ensure the project complies with S&H regulatory and governance requirements.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of project goals and objectives.
- Foster a proactive and positive safety culture by engaging with employees and stakeholders at all levels.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a health and safety advisory role, preferably with a focus on system safety, governance, and assurance.
- A robust understanding of State and Federal Construction Safety legislation.
- Demonstrable experience of Safety Management System implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven experience in conducting audits, managing non-conformances, and implementing corrective actions.
- A Bachelor's degree or Post Graduate in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
