Job Overview

This is a challenging role for a Senior Dairy Cattle Stockperson to oversee the production process and ensure milk quality meets the highest standards in a dairy farm environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the milking shed routines to optimize milk production and manage pastures and crops for livestock production.
  • Implement reproductive programs, including artificial insemination and herd fertility management to develop improved livestock strains.
  • Develop and implement calving procedures to minimize stillbirths or injuries and supervise animal health programs.
  • Monitor quality assurance procedures and ensure compliance with relevant documentation and operate milking plant and equipment safely.

Requirements

  • AQF Certificate III in Agriculture / Dairy Production (or higher equivalent) and three (3) years of recent and relevant work experience.
  • Computer literate – operate computer equipment and software packages requiring set-up and basic function operation and ability to physically conduct unsupervised internal assessments.
