About this role

We're seeking a skilled Risk Management Consultant to join our Sydney Risk Consulting Division, delivering high-quality consulting and assurance engagements to clients across various industries.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end client engagements with oversight and guidance from a manager.
  • Understand clients' risk environments and utilize internal audit specialist knowledge to deliver engagement outcomes.
  • Identify and report on client financial risks in relation to their internal financial systems and processes to ensure compliance with legislation.
  • Develop engagement plans focusing on areas of higher risk and opportunities to add value.
  • On-site delivery of risk consulting engagements, managing client interactions and overseeing junior resources.
  • Work with managers to develop high-quality internal audit reports and engagement deliverables.
  • Contribute to commercial problem-solving through analysis, critical thinking, and logical reasoning.
  • Present outcomes to clients and internal stakeholders to influence decision-making.
  • Review and quality-check findings and recommendations in the context of the client's broader business environment.
  • Manage engagement financials, including budget monitoring and flagging potential overruns.

Skills and experience

  • Previous experience in business risk, business process review, or internal audit.
  • Sound understanding of control documentation and assessment.
  • Business process review and improvement through facilitation and documentation.
  • Demonstrated skills in managing risk across complex projects.
  • A strong understanding of controls, including the ability to create quality testing documentation and perform gap assessments.
  • Ability to engage with clients and diverse stakeholder groups across all levels of a client's businesses.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong report writing ability.
