Bushland Conservationist

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Forest Officer Trainee. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in mark-up surveys, tree species identification, harvesting, and contractor supervision.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking various tasks, including:

• Marking trees for harvest operations
• Identifying tree species, threatened species, and habitat types
• Supervising contractors during harvesting activities
• Grading logs into products such as power poles
• Conducting inventory of plantation and native forests

About You:

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about working outdoors, has excellent work ethic, and a commitment to safety and environmental compliance. Additionally, you should have good interpersonal and communication skills, and be willing to undertake fire management duties, including firefighting.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A love of the bush and a strong desire to work outdoors
• Excellent work ethic, and ability to consistently work within a challenging operational environment
• Commitment to safety and environmental compliance within an operational environment
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• A Class C Drivers Licence, or a commitment to attain
