Job Title: Casualty Underwriter

This role will contribute to the growth of our Australia and New Zealand Open Market Casualty portfolio.

The ideal candidate will manage existing binders, drive new business development, and ensure long-term, profitable expansion.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite single-risk Open Market opportunities including new business, renewals, and endorsements.
  • Take ownership of various binders, managing day-to-day referrals and overseeing the renewal process.
  • Operate within delegated underwriting authority and escalate referrals with clear recommendations when required.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the Lloyd's of London model, including internal systems, premium booking, and credit control processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Underwriting Support, Delegated Authority, and other operational departments.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant underwriting files and documentation.
  • Proactively manage upcoming risks and renewal timelines in coordination with brokers.
  • Monitor underwriting workloads and ensure timely completion of risk records in line with underwriting guidelines.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory procedures.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients to support business development.
  • Coordinate and document team meetings, including agendas, minutes, and action item follow-ups.
  • Support Diversity and Inclusion initiatives across the company and region.
