Role Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned professional to fill the role of Senior Water Resources Engineer in Brisbane. This position requires a strong background in water resource engineering, including experience with hydrological assessments, flood impact assessments, and water balance modeling.

About the Role

As a Senior Water Resources Engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking or supervising a variety of water resource engineering projects, including mining, infrastructure, and renewable energy sectors.

  • Undertake or supervise hydrological assessments, flood impact assessments, water balance modeling, stormwater design and assessment for infrastructure, mine water management, and more.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop innovative solutions that meet their needs and expectations.
  • Work with a collaborative team to deliver high-quality projects that exceed client expectations.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, with over 12 years' experience and RPEQ and CPEng qualifications. A proven track record of working on complex water resource engineering projects and experience with TUFLOW and RORB modeling would be highly desirable. Additionally, skills such as waterway design, dam safety and spillway assessments, and groundwater modeling/hydrogeology would be considered assets.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement effective project management strategies to ensure timely completion of projects.
  2. Maintain a high level of technical expertise and stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  3. Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements
  • A degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, with over 12 years' experience and RPEQ and CPEng qualifications.
  • Extensive experience in TUFLOW and RORB modeling, with experience in related software such as MIKEFLOOD, FLIKE, HEC-RAS, URBS, and XP-RAFTS highly desirable.
  • A proven track record of working on complex water resource engineering projects.
