About the Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Mental Health Support Worker or Peer Support Specialist. As a key member of our Wollongong team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with lived experience of mental health issues to achieve their recovery goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to clients, focusing on their strengths and goals.
  • Develop and implement personalized recovery plans, incorporating client preferences and needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to monitor client progress and adjust support plans as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in recovery-based practice.
Requirements
  • Certificate IV or above in a relevant field, or a minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in the human services sector.
  • Strong commitment to recovery-based practice and a passion for supporting individuals with lived experience of mental health issues.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with mental health issues and the importance of person-centered care.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with clients, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data information management systems.
