Disability Services Officer

The Community Forensic Mental Health Service is seeking a passionate and skilled professional to support individuals with cognitive disabilities within the criminal justice system. This role presents an opportunity to contribute to safer communities and better long-term outcomes.
About the Role:- Provide specialist assessment and intervention for individuals in the criminal justice system, including in-reach services to courts and custodial settings.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to care planning and continuity of service.
- Support the team by providing information on NDIS access pathways and helping navigate related processes.
- Contribute to education and quality improvement initiatives within the CFMHS.
About You:
- Experienced in assessment, care coordination, and intervention for individuals with intellectual/learning disabilities, autism, acquired brain injuries, and comorbidities.
- Skilled in working across multiple service systems (health, justice, and community).
- An excellent communicator with strong report-writing and documentation skills.
- Committed to trauma-informed, person-centred, and culturally responsive practice.
- Tertiary qualified in an Allied Health discipline (experience in disability service or mental health will be highly regarded).
